Welcome to Liverpool’s Little Green Book - a directory of information that will help your business adapt and grow within a low carbon economy.

The low carbon economy is a key economic growth area for the Liverpool city region and the UK. In the Liverpool City Region alone it is expected to generate a total of 12,000 jobs by 2015 with much of this being generated by offshore wind, biomass, smartgrid technologies and retrofitting projects.

Other opportunities for the Liverpool City Region are continually emerging – such as the potential to host the Green Investment Bank, or bid to become European Green Capital. You can read about some of the key developments and projects that have been initiated by both the public and the private sector in our Green Guide & Case Study sections throughout the publication. In this edition of the Little Green Book we have as usual included a directory of business support in nurturing your ambition; In planting the seed you can check out where to access funding for innovation and in sharing our wisdom you can find out how our Further and Higher Education establishments and training centres have reacted to the demand for new low carbon skills from business.

If you are unfamiliar with some of the terminology used throughout the Little Green Book please view the Glossary page.
